Francis "LuWii" Lumibao is an interdisciplinary music artist. In 2012, He started his musical career in Baguio City, Philippines by performing in various venues, weddings, birthdays, Religious services and other corporate events.

His journey took a significant turn when he was introduced to Classical Guitar by Ethan Ventura.

In 2019, Francis achieved academic excellence, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Professional Studies, major in guitar, from Berklee Online. There, he learned from various instructors including Jane Miller, David Gilmore, Amanda Monaco, Bruce Bartlett, Tim Miller and most notably with David Newsam.

Francis currently resides in Vancouver, BC where he continues to discover the intricacies of Music and Guitar, mentored by Alec Pearson. He works as a full-time private guitar instructor throughout Metro Vancouver. Furthermore, he has expanded his art by pursuing his interests in music production, composition, film scoring, videography and photography. He also serves as a board member to the Vancouver Classical Guitar Society.

With the guitar as his main instrument, Francis pursues a wide range of music—from the catchy rhythms of pop and rock to the soulful vibes of swing, bebop, funk and R&B, and now the detailed art of classical guitar.

Francis’ mentors helped him understand the significance of mastering the fundamentals. He constantly revisits basic concepts and simplifies complex materials, passing on this practice with his students. This approach continues to shape his perspective on music, guitar, and life. His teaching philosophy extends beyond traditional guitar lessons; it's about learning how music enriches people's lives in various meaningful ways.

The Educator

In 2021, Francis and his long-time friend Marc, started an independent music production group, the Musicist Media, which became an avenue for them to release mixed-genre compositions.

The Photographer

Volunteering as a videographer and photographer with Vancouver Classical Guitar Society sparked a latent curiosity. Initially, Francis started practicing street photography until he found a fascination in capturing photos of international concert artists during concerts.

The Filmmaker

Francis: “If I were not a musician, I would be a filmmaker”.

Currently, he records, mixes, and edits live performances from different local artists. Occassionally, he makes short films for fun, but eventually making his own feature film is definitely on his bucket list.
